Los Angeles already has TVs on the Metro buses; while I'm not sure if they're HD, they use pretty much the same interface as the Raleigh ones in the picture

I used to have a pair of Etymotic 6i's that I loved (sadly, I left them on a plane...). Although the list is something like $150, you can get them for half that on Newegg, and probably for less on eBay.
