Wow, FUCK this. I was thinking about buying Madden or NCAA this year (I haven't bought a sports game this generation) but there is no way I am now. Madden '09 is being effectively discontinued barely a year after release? Fuck that.

Hmm. Very interesting. I wonder how that would work... some kind of campaign/character import process, maybe with a minimal fee, as in RB/RB2? I am very excited about this, it would certainly squash any last reservations I had about buying L4D2

I really hope that the DLC's being referred to as "packs" somehow implies they will be more than just extra campaigns. If they add one or two guns, melee weapons, and/or special infected per pack, I would gladly pay ~$10 per pack. And if Crash Course works with L4D2, that is just icing on the cake.

Does anyone know the details of this deal? Does it expire on the release day? Both Best Buy and Furtureshop say that they are "sold out" of pre-orders, and you can't order it to ship or for in-store pickup, leaving no options for purchase. Pretty shitty sale if you can't, you know, buy anything.

Naw, I'd say it is much more of a problem directly related to GoW2 rather than the Unreal 3 engine. Unreal 3 being used by a shit-ton of other games, many of which are very stable when it comes to this kind of thing.

Looks GREAT. I'm really excited for this, I think it is is going to kick way more ass than people expect. I think it took DICE two or three games off the Battlefield series originally on PC before they really 'perfected' it and hit their stride. It is going to be the same on consoles - Modern Combat, Bad Company, 1943 all were very fun games, maybe not great, but with minor flaws. BF2 is going to blow them out of the water.

Hell, there is a good chance it is going to blow a lot of competitor games away too. As good as MW2 is going to be, infantry combat has a certain upper bound to it. Eventually you want a REAL battle simulation with armor, air, artillery, (naval? anyone know?), you know, the whole nine yards.
