I couldn't disagree more with this review. I rented the game last night and my friends and I had an absolute blast playing it. The gameplay is solid and so is the soundtrack. I found the live versions of the songs (especially Pour Some Sugar On Me) to enhance the experience, rather than take away from it. They give the game a great live concert feel.

After playing earlier iterations I have to say that this game made me feel like a rockstar like no other.

Now to get a little less professional. This review's second to last paragraph is quite the red flag. It's more than obvious that Griffin McElroy is a Rock Band fanboy, and that's fine. But I challenge him to pick up this game again and invite three friends over. Play your ass off this time, put some heart into it, and tell me you don't have a blast. Then try to do the same thing with Rock Band's uninspired visuals and pansy-ass indie rock hipster soundtrack.

I gotta say the PlayStation Final Fantasy games were the beginning of the great decline.

The obsession with the gunsword steampunk tech gobblydegook just drained the games of their heart. Yoshitaka Amano's beautiful designs were replace by spikey haired girly boy anime kids.

I'm sorry, give me my crystals and espers. You can keep your gunswords and motorcycles.
