Some people will disagree with paying for an alpha build and complain. Then, some people will get angry that people are complaining. Then there will be a back and forth like that until both sides get bored and move on. The game will be stuck in the middle of it, and ultimately there will be a negative effect on its reputation.

It's best to give potential controversy a wide berth, especially when every potential customer counts.

Personally I don't feel strongly either way. But I do feel it would be a shame if the game is marred by controversy down the road. Time will tell.

Ah, Kristin Bell, so beautiful.

Her character model looks a lot more recognisable this time around -- they really didn't do her justice in AC1. The last in-game pic has scary eyes though, so I guess not quite right this time either.

Squenix needs another big hitting JRPG series that can do well globally besides just Final Fantasy. They'll never release anything that comes close to Dragon Quest in Japan, so it's really global appeal ala FF that they need. I doubt Kingdom Hearts will remain popular past this generation, it isn't the kind of concept that has major 20+ year legs like FF or DQ, so that will need replacing before long.

A lot of the games people are mentioning here are limited in franchise potential, either because of only having modest success (TWETY) or because they don't lend themselves to becoming a log term franchise (Chrono Trigger/Cross). And that's before mentioning the point that they wouldn't be "new" IP since they already exists...

Eidos, whatever. So long as at least one of these proposed mega-hitting new IPs is a JRPG, I'll be happy.

I mean, come on, how does a company the calibre of Bioware end up developing a game with worse voice acting than an Elder Scrolls game, no attempt to lip sync, a cornier script than an eastern European RPG, "sex scenes" everywhere, and a Marilyn Manson song for the trailer soundtrack? They must be taking the piss, otherwise the only answer is that they're drunk on success and have gone insane.

This is going to be either the biggest disappointment or the biggest joke in gaming history.

True Blood is awesome. Sex. A little gore. Cheese. A little comedy. And a bit more sex. Throw in some eating of hearts, and what's not to like?
