Actually, it does, "champ".

Pandora would 'love' to be included on Xbox 360

Jun 9th 2009 7:11PM (Joystiq)
Pandora is US only. Last.fm is international. Easy choice, much?

I'm one of those people who is frozen in time as far as music goes, anyway. When I try Last.fm all I hear in terms of new music is second rate derivative trash.

Interview: EJ Moreland, lead designer of APB

I hope EJ washed his hands after this photo... god only knows what he might catch. Tats = tramps - no two ways about it.

So very sad that such pretty girls would ruin their bodies like that.

This is what Final Fantasy XIV looks like

This announcement was an evil, evil tease. The way it was worded -- with no indication it was an MMO before the trailer -- got the 'dude, wtf is happening?' reaction from people and then totally let most of them down.

"What happens next is up to you"... really? They're joking right?

Metaforic unveils new anti-copying measures for DS games

May 13th 2009 9:56PM (Joystiq)
This Mclennan fella doesn't understand piracy. All his method serves to create is more interest in the DS scene because it adds more of a challenge for the groups. If each game must be hacked, there is major prestige to be had for the first person to hack this new protection (assuming it is any good). It also makes the race to release more popular games all the more important since there is a more significant roadblock no navigate now. Pirate groups will bolster their ranks where they need to.

There is a chance that some shovel-ware wont end up getting pirated as a result of their not being enough time to focus on games nobody care about. It would be like PC piracy which sees similar, if not greater, volumes of shovel-ware, much of which will go un-pirated.

The best outcome is a reduction in piracy of the crap nobody plays (even pirated) and no change in piracy of half-decent, and better, games. The worst outcome is an increase in DS piracy caused by increased interest, which could cause a greater effort to gain access to games earlier through the manufacturing and supply chains.

Let's also not forget, all DRM systems have the potential to backfire and have a negative impact on user experience. This could also be the first stone cast in a war that will see escalation to more and more restrictive DRM in an effort fight piracy, much like PC games.

Matthew Perry suffers Fallout 3-related injury, not radiation poisoning

Getting a little CTS is like a right of passage for gamers. It's always somewhat comforting to know that a small minority of celebrities are real people / not brain dead.

Microids: Syberia 3 real, console release 'essential'

Apr 17th 2009 12:35PM (Joystiq)
Microids do great work. Why would Sony not want their games released in North America? Syberia is a solid adventure game -- although I found it a little depressing for some reason. Never played the second one.

Speaking of Microids, Still Life 2 comes out this year! Yay for me and the two other people in the world who care. ;-D

So you want to see Final Fantasy XIII in action?

Apr 15th 2009 7:47PM (Joystiq)
Totally correct. There are more comparisons too.

The first boss (assuming this is the start of the game of course) is a robot scorpion. Most of the resistance/terrorist group die. Lightning is an ex-soldier (although not an ex-SOLDIER ;-/ ) from the enemy army. Also it was stated in an interview with 1up that Lightning is a female version of Cloud, essentially. The plot contains an ancient spiritual race that sought a paradise (although they build this one). It has a upper/lower world/city dynamic. The resistance/terrorist group plots to take down the upper city (Cocoon).

Any comparisons are obviously deliberate on the part of Squenix.

Vandal Hearts returns on PSN and XBLA

It's good to see this IP brought back. It's also good to see more SRPGs that aren't on handhelds.

However, having a CPU controlled party sounds like an awful idea. Is this really accurate?
