Acer was supposed to release details on the 1830 by the end of March. It's now March 31st and I haven't heard a word about it. C'mon Acer, fork over the details already!
I wonder what the value is of just hovering like that. For takeoff & landing it'd be great, but are there any real-world applications of stopping mid-flight to just hover? Now, if it could strafe and fire like a helicopter, then I can see that being very valuable, but I'm guessing it's not going to be able to do that.
Wow, I'm glad I read this article. I was JUST about to pull the trigger on an Acer 1810TZ! As long as this will be released soon, I'll hold out for the better processor.
This game looked decent, but I will never play a game like that with motion controls until there is perfect, 1:1 tracking. The sluggishness or lag of the movement completely disinterests me. If the PS3 succeeds in implementing their perfect motion tracking system, then I'll finally give motion control a serious try.
I'd like it to be able to play audio book files, complete with bookmarking.
Also, they need to fix the calendar so that it shows "all day" events in the month view. Currently, it does not.
Finally, the next model should either have a sideways pull-out keyboard, or the screen should be able to swivel sideways. Landscape view, with a keyboard, is the best way to get things done!
This is so stupid! If this happens every few weeks, then why don't they put better protection measures in place? The solution is so simple: just supend a large pole, parallel to the ground, from chains at a height of 9' (or maybe an inch lower just to be safe). Do this about 100' before the tunnel. When the bus or truck slams into that suspended pole, the driver will damn well know he/she is an idiot and will stop. The pole will be sent flying in the air, but at least you won't rip the top off your truck, and the township won't have to pry a bus outta the tunnel.
If it keeps happening, why did no one think of this?
I completely agree with Vager... Implement a user rating system and the whole problem is fixed. For the first week or so you could just have "no rating" to make sure people try the game out out. Then, after people have played it and rated it, you publish the rating. If people hated it and it went to the bottom of the list, then no big deal because most of us would start looking at the top titles & work down.
I actually don't even have an Xbox; I have a PS3. The point is the same though no matter which system you're on. User generated ratings are a great idea.
Oh, and I'd only allow 1 "vote" per IP address so people wouldn't use ninja-marketing to make their games rate higher.
I'd love bring a video camera based on this tech into work and film the whole place. Then I'd turn it into a Doom map. Fraggin co-workers (and my boss) FTW!
