Back in my day we didn't have vomiting zombies we had slow moving zombies and the occasional zombie through window pane. Today to truly experience the horror of a zombie survival game you need to hear it through your ears directly not through your TV audio.
Can you imagine if it was a requirement to have Audio Headphones when playing horror games? We may not have laughed so much at Eternal Darkness and its silly insanity effects, Dino Crisis may have actually been a tad better from the truly horrible game it was.
Left 4 Dead though is what a horror game should be no plot and lots of running and killing the zombie population. Is Left 4 Dead a great game without the audio phones? Probably but having the sounds of fear in your ears is enough to make anyone wet their pants.

Juggling Starforce 2 and FFTA2 at the moment, though playing FFTA2 is like dragging my feet
