Dec 7th 2009 1:23PM Yeah, just because people aren't buying every little facet of the franchise doesn't mean the next real release isn't going to be massive. I think it's just that most people who buy it aren't the kind of people to buy DLC and DS spin-offs.

Dec 6th 2009 8:38PM I think with Steam's awesome weekend deals (and even midweek deals now) there's pretty much no shortage of great value games to buy for real.
It's just a real shame that the trend now seems to be to INCREASE the price of new retail PC games. Their solution for people who don't want to buy games is to make them more expensive and riddle the legit versions with DRM and limited activations?

Dec 3rd 2009 3:54PM There are hundreds of companies that could easily try to set up a service to rival Steam. Many have, and given Microsoft's recent string of failures with regard to PC gaming - I doubt this will be the one to give them any serious competition.
Valve's monopoly would bother me if they weren't just so damn good at making a great service in Steam. And because nobody can match that, it looks like the monopoly is going to continue until someone can figure out a way to offer more.
