@jdude4 Don't feel stupid at all. It's a very cool idea and I want one too. It looks like most of these people aren't musicians and probably don't know what a MIDI controller actually does. Everyone loves to hate stuff on the Internet, especially when they have never seen or used it up close.

The DM5 Pro Kit uses real drum heads, not plastic.

The reviewer missed some points:

• This kit with Rock Band 2 makes separate sounds for cymbals and toms despite having the same color rings so the cymbals aren't just a novelty.

• You can use this kit with your computer for about $150 using the Alesis Trigger IO.

• You can use this kit standalone with no computer or game console by using drum module (around $300).

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE POSTING THAT IT CAN'T DO SOMETHING IN ALL CAPS! Read the FAQ on their web site.

Also, the kit in the picture isn't put together right. It's supposed to curve around the player, not in a straight line.

It still won't have the TiVO interface, Season Pass, home networking, and other great TiVO features that were lost when DirecTV severed ties with TiVO.

If it's anything like the HR20 the fonts will be too small, the interface will still be clunky and confusing, it will need to be rebooted once a week, and it's all done so can squeeze every last dollar out of it by stealing Tivo's concept wihtout having to pay a license.

A Hyundai and a Ferarri are both cars that take you from one place to another. A DVR and TiVO both allow you to timeshift recordings and pause live TV. I'll still take the Ferarri and TiVO anyday.
