Dante gets slash-happy in latest DMC footage

Dec 22nd 2011 9:51AM (Joystiq)
The camera seems pretty crappy while Dante is running/not in a fight, but then again, this series is not known for good camera.

Devil May Cry HD Collection confirmed for April 2012

Dec 22nd 2011 9:41AM (Joystiq)
On one hand, I'm glad they included the Special Edition of DMC3 in the bundle, playable Vergil was very fun, but on the other hand, the lowered difficulty in the Special Edition makes me disappointed...
But who am I kidding, I am definitely getting the HD Collection.

Devil May Cry enemy concept art is straight out of Monet's nightmares

I hope this game doesn't turn out like Alice Madness Returns or other Ninja Theory games, beautiful to look at but be a drag to play.

The hidden costs of PlayStation Vita: 3DS-esque battery life and mandatory memory cards

Sep 16th 2011 7:30AM (Joystiq)
Dear god that battery life... My DS Lite feels like it can last days and days of use.

Nyko Zoom for Kinect available now [update]

Sep 15th 2011 9:50AM (Joystiq)
So the Nyko Zoom works... I guess all I have to do now, is wait for Dance Central 2 and Just Dance 3 to be released, and I can finally buy a Kinect then.

Ninja Theory head wary of AAA retail model, despite following it with DMC

Sep 8th 2011 7:06AM (Joystiq)
Somebody please, just take the DMC rights away from Tameem, before he ruins the franchise beyond repair.

ESRB rates Devil May Cry 1, 2 and 3 for Xbox, PS3

Sep 8th 2011 6:56AM (Joystiq)
DMC3:DA in HD? Yes please!
I have to wonder though, will they really release Dante's Awakening with it's difficulty levels, or are they after the Special Edition with playable Vergil and lower difficulty?
I think the playable Vergil outweighs the difficulty problem from the Special Edition.

68 percent of European Xbox Live subscriptions purchased at retail

Sep 5th 2011 9:08AM (Joystiq)
@liam
Retail discounts are one reason for sure, but I'd say another one is that you can pay with a credit card in only like 2/3 countries out of the 27 that are in the European Union (but I suspect the article isn't talking about just the EU, but about the geographical location of Europe, in which case, a great majority of people can't even pay online and have no choice but to buy at retail)

Watch the first 9 minutes of The Prince of Persia Trilogy HD collection

Nov 11th 2010 2:48AM (Joystiq)
I'm not sure if I'm a big enough fan to get this... I already played all three on the PS2. Not to mention, it was really hard going back to Sands of Time after Warrior Within's superior camera controls.

Rock Band 3 review: The only rhythm game you'll ever need

Oct 22nd 2010 3:05PM (Joystiq)
First of all, looks like I started a flame war, which was not my intention since I specifically mention that this was about my TASTE and you can't argue about TASTE.

@wcarnation
Well maybe I am. Nu-metal is a popular genre, and even RB3 had Chop Suey, One Step closer and Down with the Sickness on the disc, I guess it was my fault for expecting variety or something?

When this genre of games started, any song with a guitar part could be expected to be in the game. Then Harmonix narrowed the selection down to songs that have vocals. And now the selection is limited to songs that have guitar part, a vocal part and a piano/keys part. Of course it's going to be harder to make a selection of songs that will please people and I'm just one of those that is not please with the current selection.

Anyway, arguing about taste is totally pointless, I was just expressing my disappointment that the RB3 track list is nowhere near as good as RB2 track list was. That game so many good and well-known songs, that expecting any other game to match its greatness was just setting yourself up for disappointment and that is just what I got.

Also the little circle, combo-meter thing was much better looking in RB2, and the note-curve for vocals was also better done in RB2, it was a lot more obvious when you weren't singing correctly.
