Joyswag: Nintendo DSi, Rhythm Heaven & accessories [update]

Apr 7th 2009 11:56AM (Joystiq)
I would probably show off the system to some of my coworkers. When I drive cab on the week ends, there are times when we have to sit for a long time in line at the airport waiting for passengers. A DSi would be a great way to pass time.

I would show it off to my sister (a 35 yr old lawyer) who was asking about getting a DS a few weeks ago.

The Beatles: Rock Band launching worldwide on 9/9/09

Anyone else notice that this will apparently be the first $60 Wii game?

Guitar Hero World Tour standalone drums, guitar available now

Feb 17th 2009 12:55PM (Joystiq)
Here's a slightly related question. Has anyone found a good case for carrying around the GH:WT drums? Right now I have been keeping the original box to use to transport everything when playing at someone else's home. But I'd rather get a case that would hold the drums or ideally a full band set up with two guitars as well.

Rock Band Wii sold more than any other version, RB2 not selling so well

Jan 16th 2009 5:50PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The timing of the release is likely what is hurting them. It came out too long after GH:WT, allowing that game to dominate the holiday sales. It also came out too close to Christmas when most people have done a fair amount of their shopping. And of course it also came out far too late after the other two systems, meaning anyone with a choice already bought it on the PS3 or 360.

Wii Warm Up: How long?

Jan 8th 2009 11:39AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
My gaming time varies wildly depending upon the rest of my schedule. I try to spend at least 30 minutes a day to keep up my Animal Crossing character. Beyond that, I've spent a lot of time in the last week playing De Blob which I received for Christmas. But now that I've completed that game, I may scale back my play time.

Wii Warm Up: Set aside

To many unfinished games

Super Paper Mario: never even started yet
Okami: only played about an hour
Zack and Wiki: played about 20 minutes
No More Heroes: got to the final boss

Animal Crossing: Let's Get a New Disc from Nintendo

I think the better case could be made that this is a good reason to stop region locking games. Particularly as the gaming community becomes more global due to online connectivity, making games from different regions incompatible makes little sense. Are there any real benefits to region locks?

Rock Band 2 confirmed for December 18 [update 1]

Dec 12th 2008 4:34PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I suppose that only time will tell. But honestly, at this point with the supposed release date only a week and a half away, they should be able to tell us one way or another.

But as for the absence from the Target ad, that doesn't worry me. This isn't likely to be a very high profile release since it has already been out on the other systems for months. Plus Target may not want to hype the game the week before Christmas if they aren't certain about the amount of stock they will have beforehand.

And considering IGN has supposedly played the game with GH instruments to confirm compatibility, I can't image that it is going to be suddenly removed from the game. They may just not want to make the compatibility claim in case it isn't 100% compatible with every 3rd party guitar.
