I like the 3D graphics here - personally, 3D seems to look a little better on smaller sprites. Less blocky. I would have prefered that Square went this route with their latest Final Fantasy remake.

The CGI characters do look a little cheesy - but since it isn't actual gameplay, it doesn't really matter.

Here in the states, Gamestop has cornered the market on used games. I wish there were other retailers, as I'm not a huge fan of the Gamestop franchise. For the most part, the folks behind the counter are friendly. But occasionally, they can be rude or annoying. If I do go to Gamestop, I try to go during off-hours/days to avoid the hordes of little kids and long lines. It's a great source for older used games even if some of it is overpriced. And it's also useful for wasting time while browsing through their selection. I usually stop by there at least once a week to just look around.

Went by a Gamestop last night right before closing to pick up FFTA2. Traded in Front Mission DS & Panzer Tactics, got $20 bucks off. Every little bit helps for me - especially if my older games are just gathering dust.

I'd order from Amazon more often if their prices were cheaper. Occasionally you can find a deal, but not on anything really worthwhile, it seems.

I agree - although the arcade version of LoK was much better than the NES version. This one looks pretty good, though. The fact you now have a life bar means no more constantly dying right as you get into your 'ninja groove'.

Nothing worse than jumping through the trees and then suddenly plummenting to the ground. Now you get to flip out and kill people without worrying about the occasional stray shuriken. Good times!

Considering the intensive amount of time one has to spend playing Fire Emblem, I'd rather have it on the handheld. I remember taking the GBA Fire Emblems to the park and playing there..no better way to waste a summer day.

The Gamecube version was pretty good, but I think having it on a console caused me to become a pasty-faced otaku...where as before I was just an otaku who got a lot more sun.

Anyway, these new scans do look a lot better. Better the real test will be seeing some video. I'm thinking that the animation must be pretty smooth, being on the DS now. The GBA animations were pretty good, so it can only get better.

I wonder why they decided they do away with facial features on the sprites? This makes them seem somewhat anonymous. Although, I'm sure it'll be just as painful when a character dies...

Personally, I would prefer updated graphics on this remake. Although the graphics were great by SNES standards, this is 2008.... Not having updated graphics would only take away from the gaming experience (a la Front Mission for DS). It may be a great game, but it won't win any new converts with outdated graphics.

Or a pirate parrot. Dood!

Some great games here. I'd definitely go for the Street Figher 2 and Phantasy Star Collection. Unfortunatley, I've never had much luck on Ebay. Someone always ups the bid at the last minute and I'm not in position to stay online to try and match them. Oh well....

I'm currently playing Final Fantasy 6. I actually play GBA games more than DS games...guess I'm old skool like that.
