I hate to say it but these numbers are just garbage. HDMI output? Did they forget to mention there isn't a HDMI cable in the box? Or the fact a new controller doesn't come with a USB cable and you'll need to shell out another $10 on top of the $99 for a controller (going on Australia prices)? Or the fact that PS3 games cost more of the shelf than 360 or Wii games (again don't know if this the case outside of Australia). Not to mention the inflated price of Blurays which are only worth the investment if you have the right TV.

This is another very stupid move in a big long history of stupid moves. Trying to push the PS3 as the price friendly option is a terrible arguement by Sony.

Sony needs to accept the fact that if they want people to buy their console they need the games. They have some, played Resistance 2 last night for ten minutes and holy crap it pees on Halo 3's campaign. And, as stated above, their advertising department needs to get of their asses and remember what it is they are selling. Enough of the 'This is Living' wankery.

Honestly, it's like they're begging us to download torrents and stream them over our Xbox's than deal with this hobbled crap.

The plot was terrible, jingoistic drivel and I certainly wouldn't describe the game as a massive hit on its release. The general response was average to good.

The sad thing is that there are games out there that could potentially make for fantastic films, the plots of Beyond Good and Evil, Bioshock or even Halo would translate really well to film. Unfortunately hollywood only wants the games they can license really cheaply and thats were EA (owner of Army of Two and The Sims come in). The fact that Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2 and Dead or Alive, all games in which you just fight people and have no plot, have been made into films is pretty sad.

There may one day be a good game film adaptation, the Gore Verbinski led Bioshock might be good. But overall I don't think we need them.

Geena Davis totally sold me in Long Kiss Goodnight, she kicked ass in that film.

One I'm most interested in is the fact this sounds earily like Mathew Reilly's last book, which lends a bit of credence to the rumor given he's Australian as well, that could be a connection.

And where the hell is the next Hitman game? Eidos had it listed in their last financial year report for a September release this year, is that one of the titles that has been axed?

I hope not, knocking people out and stealing their clothes doesn't work in real life when your 195cm tall. I need the virtual experience. They better expand on the ability to go on a gun crazy rampage dressed as Santa as you could in Hitman Blood Money. Mayhaps an Easter Bunny shooting spree?

Where's The Empire Strikes Back? I know it doesn't seem like it but all the elements are there. Awkward scenarios, quirky friends (in this case a wookie and a nickel plated android), rogueish exes (does Lando count as an ex of Solo's?), and the final tender moment where Leia says I love you, and Han just nods and says 'I know', I get a lump in my throat every time.

It's like When Harry Met Sally except with children dressed as midget alien pigmen.

I love my home country of Australia and I often try to communicate to people on the international internet community that we're not all a pack of backwards, hick, morons.

Then we do stuff like this, or like banning Fallout 3 or GTA IV. Stupid backwards, hick country.

The Night/Day Watch movies were non-admitting vampire/monster/supernatural movies. Very different from the books in which the characters were very specifically identified as sorcerors, changelings and the like. in the movies none of these terms is even mentioned and I think someone says the word vampire once.

I think Timur is kinda going the same way with Wanted, its a superhero (supervillain actually) movie where no one admits to being, or is identified as, superhuman. Despite Jimmy MaC bending bullets and shooting the wings of flys.

The comic in its raw form would never have worked as a movie anyway, there were far to many in jokes and obscure comic references, the things that made it most enjoyable, to translate well. Plus the comic was uber-nasty with a racist, rapist mass murdering 'hero' who looked like Eminem, ie. someone impossibly to connect with as a movie audience.

I saw this when it first came out on video in Australia, my Mother of all people recommended it. I remember it being a lot more awkward and bitter funny rather than the belly laugh funny of Superbad. Its similar to any number of dysfunctional family movies you've seen with character casts with added twist that they;re all trapped together in a station wagon rather than away for a long weekend some where.

Anyone who has seen Reign of Fire (someone other than me must have bothered) can testify that Mathew Mconathingy can be pretty tough when he wants to be. What they need is someone who can play period, who can believeably portray a soldier who fell asleep in the forties and woke up in the naughties, which is really what Cap America is at heart and Ultimates did a good job of capturing that.

And no Robin for the simple reason that Robin is the worst character concept in the history of comics, yes wose than Stilt man. He's one of these terrible old comic ideas that became so ingrained in fan psyche's they can't imagine a Batman universe without him, despite the fact he's by far the weakest part of it.
