The Daily Grind: What cool feature was still a disappointment?

Sep 13th 2010 2:37PM (Massively)
I can't limit myself to one aspect to City of Heroes. I have to break the rules, as most people have done.

» City of Villains: Requiring newspaper missions to advance to real contacts became very tiring in the middle of the main game. It just doesn't hold up when you're trying to do ~20 newspaper missions just to get to what few contacts there are in later areas.

» Invention System: It can be confusing and frustrating, especially when your memory is about as good as a goldfish.

» Alignment System: It has to start at Lv20? WTF? Why not Lv14 when you're allowed to get a travel power? Plus, why not allow starting *as* a specific alignment? Brutes in Paragon and Blasters in the Isles. It's not that far-fetched. Really.

Did Microsoft Russia leak the new Internet Explorer 9 user interface?

Tell us how you really feel.

IE really isn't that bad of a browser. I use Firefox as my main, but my stance on IE has changed from total opposition on v6 to a "not the best, but not the worst" with the current version.

It's really improved since Microsoft actually formed an IE dev team again.

OnTopReplica lets you put a section of any window always-on-top

I'm glad I found this post (thank you search)-- I've been wanting to watch videos on Hulu while playing games, but because I only have one monitor, I've had to flip back and forth between Hulu Desktop and the game window and it gets annoying because I'll usually die.

It's nearly perfect. The only thing that would kick it up to perfection is Microsoft allowing live views of windows while minimized, but that's something I can live with. This program, though, I cannot. Thanks for finding it, Erez!

Google outlaws Windows, but what if Microsoft outlaws Google...?

Jun 1st 2010 8:32PM (Download Squad)
"The fact is, it is Google's fault that Google might have old Microsoft software. They should have upgraded to IE8 as soon as it came out. That might have prevented the attacks and not led Google to make such ridiculous claims."

Fixed for accuracy.

Add elevator music to break the monotony of slow-moving Windows progress bars!

I had to chuckle when it started playing the default track, mostly because I enjoy video game music. Super Mario Land makes it an instant winner.

Worlds.com vs. NCsoft lawsuit settled

Apr 28th 2010 1:40AM (Massively)
They were going to move to Activision-Blizzard right after they won against NCSoft, thus having set precedent, which they failed to do.

Worlds.com definitely had Blizzard in sight, but Activision has really deep pockets.

Thanks for the heads up, Jay.

I love my friends, but they shouldn't be able to choose where my data goes for me.

Also, it sounds like FB is only looking at the Site Governance page for comments. If you want to leave a comment (which is under 150 at the time of this comment), head here: http://www.facebook.com/fbsitegovernance

Thanks for saying something about Daemon Tools-- I've been trying to replace Magic ISO for a while without much luck.
