what the hell, the girl has an Xbox controller S, Boy a N64 pad, and the guy in the middle either a third party ps2 pad, or....even more strangely, an original Xbox controller the WRONG WAY ROUND...?
Ah, the things that hopeless marketing bods miss - I remember as a kid nearly losing the plot when i had a book called the "History of the Twentieth Century" which had a picture of a MegaDrive1 with Sonic 1 in it, and on the screen of the TV next to it was the Sonic 2 half-pipe bonus level.
Also, in the Argos catalogue, there was a picture of a kid playing what on the screen was actually a pre rendered MarioKart64 photo (one of the high-resolution box art shots) and the kid was holding the controller with his left hand on far left hand side by the d-pad - which was disabled in MarioKart64.
Call me pedantic but little things like that make me spit blood
Funnily enough, the main thing that makes me want to play this game (other than the fac the man is the genius behind some of LucasArts best adventure games) is the visual aspect - it's trippy as hell and the themes (within each 'mind') and visuals are the one thing that all reviews I have read agree on - they're brilliant, and incredibly original.
The fact I haven't played it is down to my eagerness to make a quick buck from my Xbox - then I bought a GameCube for £15 unaware that Psychonauts wasn't released for it.
Gamer product marketing gone bad
