Uhh Demon's Souls was possibly the best and most innovative game of the year, while Shadow Complex was a derivative mess with criminally sloppy mechanics and a strikingly stupid narrative. How is this list even possible?

This is so backward it's ridiculous. The capability to hold a steady, high framerate is one of the most significant technical advantages this generation of consoles has over past ones. Of course it's rewarding for a player to 'break' the game by causing so much to happen onscreen that the game chugs, but to incorporate that as a feature is just crazy.
