Oh, my! Could it be that Joystiq is regaining some sense? Or, is it another ploy to generate hit by pissing a segment of their readership off?

I have said it, Gears is kill.SWITCH on steroid. It will be dark (to increase the illusion of antialiasing), it will be full of flashy graphical effects, the controls will remind you of RE 4, the online portion will be significantly below the single-player levels.

I so hope I am wrong.

Now, if this game runs with no frame rate issues on PS3, we will know for sure PS3 is more powerful than Xbox 360.

PS3 is becoming cheaper everyday!

And with PS3, decoding happens in hardware, not in software.

You can slice and dice it anyway you want, connecting a HD-DVD drive to Xbox 360 via USB 2.0 to have the decoding happen in software...is an inferior solution any day of the week.

Plus, you will have to add the noise of the HD-DVD drive to the noise of the 360 fans. (Yes, the 360 fans will have to spin quite a bit since decoding HD stream requires a lot of CPU.)

Noise is great to watch movies, right?

If that game is that good, they should certainly show the world a lot of gameplay footage and a demo.

I they think showing the game prior to its release could damage launch day sales, I question whether this game is as good as they want us to believe.

Another 360 lemon...

That low-tech hardware could be produced a lot faster than that!

At this point, PS3 is likely to launch with 15 games in the US.
