I had this problem the day the new software came out, the solution for me was to make zune software 4.0 'forget' my zune 120, then re-register it. Tried just about every possible other solution out there first, but that's all it ended up taking for me. My device firmware was already at 3.2, so perhaps an update might be needed for those with older versions, but who knows. Certainly an inconvenience though

Perhaps that's because no major platform so far has been digital download only. In the past it didn't make sense to spend a long time downloading a game to an expensive memory stick when it was cheaper to just buy a physical copy, but with connection speeds getting faster and memory sticks cheaper, it might be more feasible now.
