@ch3burashka
Same here, but maybe it's too hot in the lab now...hence the jungle-like vegetation! :)

@Faenix
Not to mention the bitching about how Portal 2's *early release* wasn't early enough, by some arbitrary metric. There are a few rather bad apples in the Valve fanbase.

Arkansas to get its first Apple Retail Store

Apr 1st 2011 1:19AM (TUAW.com)
I remember when the Little Rock CompUSA went out of business...I was desperate for an Apple Store to come around!

In the time it took that store to finally get off the ground, I left Arkansas for Australia, moved to Japan, then to Texas, and finally over to California. Good to hear my friends are going to have something better than Best Buy to get their Apple fix!

Super Meatmortem: The almost-death of Team Meat

@develin I agree. And Joystiq shouldn't be calling this "part of game development." It's something that teams do when they have no good options available.

@(Unverified) Team Meat picked a bad milestone, and crunched to hit it. I didn't post about Team Meat; pay attention to who I quoted.

When journalistic outfits like Joystiq refer to crunch as a presupposed part of the process, a simple given in the field of game development, they do everyone a disservice. That kind of writing normalizes it, and makes crunch feel more an acceptable managerial practice than an unfortunate occurrence among inexperienced/poor managers.

That is such an awful philosophy to have on game development. Crunch is a terrible way to deal with poorly-picked deadlines and badly-managed projects. It most certainly is NOT "just part of game development," and such an attitude is far too prevalent in the game industry, which is probably why there's way more crunch than there ever should be.

Quake completed in under an hour

@Cleric Yeah, 48 minutes of solid gameplay, the video's longer because of non-gameplay footage.
