Nintendo officially announces PokePark Wii

Oct 16th 2009 4:31PM (Joystiq)
Has the RPG formula ever really been drastically changed at all though? Has the RTS or FPS genre been drastically changed since it's conception for that matter? No. It's hit a point where it is really hard to "innovate" in the industry, but that doesn't mean you can't make good games rehashing old formulas.

I see it as just plain stupid on Nintendo's part, developers could spend years and years thinking and working to achieve an idea that they could develop into a hit that would sell in the millions, and Nintendo has been sitting on one for over 10 years they refuse to make.

Nintendo officially announces PokePark Wii

I have NEVER understood it. For years and years and years Nintendo has been sitting on an absolute gold mine and has never once acted upon it. We all sit and wait in E3 for a new IP that will blow us away when all Nintendo really needs to do is release a single player FULL Pokemon experience on a console.
Just start with the first 150 and create a whole 3D adventure on the Wii, hell you don't even need to change the battle system or really anything about the game. A straight up port of the original Gameboy version to Wii adding a few newer features (Clock, weather, etc) and you have an instant success. It would easily become one of the top selling Wii games, period, and provide a solid, long, single player RPG with substance. It would appeal to hardcore and casual alike. You throw in friend code trading and battling? Bam.

It has seemed like the obvious choice for so many years, and it's quite mind boggling that they still have yet to act on such an idea.

Wii Sports Resort sells over 500K in US

Blitz 20-03 is one of the best football games ever made, above Tecmo Super Bowl and behind NFL 2k5.

Not realistic? Yes. Still football? Yes. Still awesome? Yes.
That being said I acquired Wii Sports Resort and played it for about an hour trying all the games and haven't touched it again.

BUT BLITZ IS SOOOO GOOD

Monster Hunter Freedom Unite does monsterously well in Japan

That's okay though, because you can just simply use X-Link Kai and it works like a dream. Throw in ventrilo at the same time and you've got one of the best online experiences around.

Metareview: The Conduit (Wii)

Jun 24th 2009 2:51PM (Joystiq)
Maybe my problem is that I am usually playing sitting up on a bed with my arms out pointing at the TV, there is no back support and nowhere to rest any part of my arm or elbow. With a regular controller or a non-pointy at screen Wii game I rest it in my lap, a mouse and keyboard I'm resting on a desk, with my arcade stick I am resting it on the massive bulk of wood that makes that sucker weigh like 10 pounds.

But I digress, I am neither old (18) or a fat bastard (5'10" 155 Pounds), I think I just need to start playing in an armchair because at least then I'd have somewhere to put my elbows.

Wrist exercises? Well I can only think of one and generally that is frowned upon at the gym

Shit Girugamuk calm down up there sir, I'm still getting it later today. I just made an observation, but the funny thing is not that I think about it I never seemed to notice and wrist problems while playing RE4 or UC. Hm. Anywho, with this and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite I'm set for a long while

Tightest most comfortable control scheme of any console FPS? I must have wimpy wrists cause I couldn't play Call of Duty: World at War for more than 30 minutes at a time, pointing the Remote at the screen was just killer

Tatsunoko vs Capcom gets online play, 5 new characters for North America [update]

What we need here for sure is Rick Hunter or Max Sterling from Robotech, any RE character really, Speed Racer, a hunter from Monster Hunter, and of course, Phoenix Wright.

We can dream right?

Almost the same kinda gameplay as Crush on the PSP, only a lot faster paced.
