Fieldrunners dashes onto Euro PSN Oct. 1

Before we complain about MORE tower defense games....don't we need to first have A tower defense game? I can't think of a single one on the PSP.

Famitsu: IREM offering R-Type Command fans some Bitter Chocolate

Wow! Awesome and unexpected news! Even though I've played through several times since launch, guess what happens to be in my PSP yet again? LOL

Great game for turn-based fans. Intuitive interface, no archaic details to remember, and units that offer lots of strategic options without being cumbersome.

ONLY drawback is long load times. If they can lick that, this sequel may be one of my all-time fave PSP titles. ^_^

Patapon 2 pre-order bonus is: Patapon 2 demo

THANKS for providing all that great info, nispoh! Patapon was my favorite PSP game, so I'm totally stoked about this one. I'm slightly disappointed that the demo is a download--I liked having a physical demo UMD for the first game. ^_^

As for whether or not this demo will include a unique item (like the last one), it really doesn't matter. If I remember correctly, the unique spear from the first demo was decent but nothing special. It was very quickly replaced with better weapons. I guess the Pokemon "gotta catch 'em all" crowd might like seeing that spear in their unused inventory, but for me, out of sight is out of mind.

GTA: Liberty and Vice City Stories may be coming to PlayStation Store

What I don't get is why they so often price these old, digital releases at or above retail price. These two games are $19.99 or less everywhere. Let's see what they price the downloads at....

Cool! Thanks, Andrew. That's a load off.

With the PSP already being the redheaded stepchild of gaming, seeing it buried even further was a truly sad prospect. I look forward to the feed options.

I only visited the "fanboy" sites for PSP and DS news. I don't own a PS3 or a Wii. Will we have the option to view console-specific news, like before, or will everything be lumped together based on the company tabs up above (Sony, Nintendo, etc)?

Not relishing the prospect of wading through dozens of PS3 articles to find the rare PSP news nugget. I'll probably stop visiting if that's the case.

Datel sued by Sony over for 'Lite Blue Tool'

Jan 19th 2009 4:25PM (Joystiq Playstation)
If Youtube videos are any indication, piracy on the PSP is **FIVE TIMES MORE COMMON** compared to the DS. Let that sink in for a moment. That's 500% we're talking about.

Ignoring the effects of software THEFT on the willingness of developers to produce more software because an unrelated system also has theft is boneheaded. It's like saying crime in Compton isn't a factor in people wanting to move there because it's easier to break into houses in the suburbs (less deadbolts on the doors and bars on the windows). The DS is aimed squarely at kids. Young kids. The accessory and game selection alone will clearly explain that. Kids (and the parents buying their games) are far less likely to exploit the DS than teens and young adults with PSP's. Hence their piracy is much less (relatively speaking) when compared to their relative software sales.

You want to know WHY there is a "LACK OF GAME RELEASES"? It's due to piracy. If games sold on the PSP, developers would create them. It's called economics. But the PSP torrents far outnumber the legitimate sales, so developers concentrate their efforts where they will do more good. Simple as pie.

Bravo, Sony! And always nice to see PSPfanboy's common sense approach to piracy and what it means to the PSP. Very refreshing.

If anyone hasn't clicked the link and just wants one thing (like the plushie or the case), they are all available individually as well. That's pretty cool right there.

That plushie is verrrry tempting.....

Atlus PR reveals the Hammerin' Hero stages

Jan 10th 2009 3:35AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Really digging the artwork. So people like the game mechanics from the demo? Kind of hard to tell what he's doing in the pics unless it's all "smash the guy in front of you" stuff. :-)

No worries on the Atlus prices. I loved their R-Type Command (bought on Day #1), but their stuff tends to drop to $20, new, very quickly. If $40 is too steep, wait a month.
