(Don't) Give me that old time RPG combat

Apr 1st 2012 4:19PM (Joystiq)
Play Arcanum. That had both real-time and turn-based combat (you could toggle with spacebar), and that game played alright. Heck, that was a great game just in general.

@frostydf2 Best Buy has them too. I saw a large stand full of them last time I went (last week when RE:ORC came out).

@Bruce Wayne Yeah, I preordered for that, but I don't plan on getting it at launch. I'll wait until maybe it's around $40. I like those steelbook cases though.

@Beavis wo Butthead
So, it's like the RE:ORC Spec Ops DLC announced for April (free, post-launch DLC)?

Resident Evil: Operation Free DLC deploys on April 10

@GeraltRivia If it's already on disc, and free, then why would it be DLC?

Capcom's Svensson embarrassed by 'Revelaitons' covers, optimistic about RE6

@blkdragonj Those are just the various preorder bonuses. Though they have announced Nemesis mode as paid DLC for the Xbox version of RE:ORC already.

PSA: Beware of malware-infected copies of Mari0

@The Blank Mage Returns
I haven't played it, but it looks like it makes sense. Isn't this essentially Mario with a portal gun? If so, then really it's kind of a stupid crossover. Mario is quite well designed, if you are playing it right you don't need the portal gun.

Microsoft sold 426,000 Xbox 360s in February, 14th month in top console spot

@Decanus I don't know about getting rid of the battery pack. As it stands, all rechargeable batteries eventually crap out. With this design it makes it easy to change or replace without sacrificing accessibility or adding to bulkiness (only reason that sticks out is because it's the only part that needs to, if it didn't stick out the rest would be too bulky). If things like the iPod Touch and the PS controllers taught me anything, it's don't sacrifice comfort for "looking good".

Deadly Premonition being remastered for PS3, with Move support

@captplut9465
What? Every one of those would make the game worse. As it stands this is the best game ever. Changing anything would make it lose its charm. Adding stuff though, I'm open to that.

@HaVoK308 Agreed. I hope they don't touch the graphics (they're fine and if someone can't play this game because they think the graphics suck then they don't deserve to play the best game ever).
