Alfred 0.9 adds global hotkeys, preference sync and more

May 12th 2011 3:23PM (TUAW.com)
Alfred is the first launcher I've eveer managed to effectively integrate into my workflow. Culd never get QS to feel "right", but Alfred has just clicked. The communitynbuilding up around it is great too and I am constantly astonished as the tricks people come up with for it, not to mention the awesome team that work so hard to make it great.

Yes, I am a total fanboy.

@appleipad You need to be spending £60 a month to get the 1Gb limit. Most of the plans are limited to 500meg.

@sinaplenty How about background streaming audio for the commute, something that is now a real possibility with the new OS?

@liam Unlimited to 500meg is a pretty big deal when we're about to get background audio streaming on the iPhone. I already use around 400meg a month.

@Elliot Bridgewater Remember SIMplicity tariffs are a rolling one month contract. Just as you can cancel with a month's notice, so can they.

I'm hoping they don't force this change since I, too, am on SIMplicity.

Android 2.2 Froyo: everything you ever wanted to know

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi Why would you want a 7-9MP camera *on a phone*?

My DSLR is 6MP and more than enough. Why would you want crappy quality just to get an image that takes up more storage space and is already way beyond the resolution of a 1920x1080 screen (which is only 2MP)?

Wi-Fi Sync app rejected by Apple, headed to Cydia for $9.99

May 14th 2010 2:53AM (Engadget)
@jellotime91 From my understanding of the app it actually didn't add files to the iPod app. It created a virtual USB connection that the phone and iTunes recognised so the device synced with iTunes as normal.

I'm also not surprised it was rejected, but it seems as though it *technically* didn't use private APIs. I expect the next terms of the developer agreement to have something about this (or for iPhone 4 to support wireless sync)

I love the powerglove. It's so bad.
