Vita 'UMD Passport' won't be offered in US
Feb 7th 2012 4:52PM (Joystiq)Because Sony completely can't work with other companies that have developed games for them in the past. Nope.

Feb 7th 2012 4:41PM (Joystiq)Where are you getting 30 million from? As of the latest Media Create figures, the Vita has barely scrubbed past the 530k mark in Japan. I'm definitely not expecting it to do too much better here, especially when they keep bogging down(crappy, near mandatory proprietary memory cards and now this) a purchase.

Feb 7th 2012 4:30PM (Joystiq)So, did Nintendo's handhelds not exist until the PS2 was created?

Feb 7th 2012 4:27PM (Joystiq)Ummm... what? Did the GBC not exist before the PS2? If you dig deeper I wouldn't be surprised to find more examples, such as that twin Famicom/Super Famicom thing. Not to mention that computers surely fit the bill. This is not a recent concept at all.

Feb 7th 2012 3:35PM (Joystiq)No, they didn't. But the GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS, Wii, PS2, PS3(early models), and the 360 all do. And yes, if you're interested in getting a Vita you're interested in Vita games but its still nice to be able to bolster your library with your old collection. Hell, there are still a couple of prominent DS titles on the way(SMT:DS2 and PokemonXNobunaga's Ambition). Not to mention the hidden gems you may have missed out on, I still need to find a copy of Infinite Space.
Just as well, you can turn the common piracy argument of "I can carry all of my games around in one thing" to work even more effectively for BC. You can play all of the applicable games on one system. I imagine its much easier to carry multiple games, especially in this case where they're just digital copies, around than it is multiple systems.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 summons your wallet on Feb. 28
Feb 5th 2012 2:19PM (Joystiq)Also, Joystiq, I don't think its the Master Demon Fusion system. Its "master Demon Fusion" as in, figure Demon Fusion out and make it work for you.

Feb 5th 2012 2:14PM (Joystiq)When did username become too much hassle?
Also, I figured it'd just be pronounced sin.
PSA: 100,000 more Diablo 3 beta invites sent out
Feb 4th 2012 11:45AM (Joystiq)Sadly, it doesn't look like it. None of the people I know got one and I'd like to be able to give them some invites. Even 5 max would be great, Blizzard. Give them out as rewards for getting a class to 13 or something.
PSA: 100,000 more Diablo 3 beta invites sent out
Feb 4th 2012 10:25AM (Joystiq)How can you not like the way it plays when you haven't even played it yet? I got in the beta in this wave and, after a few days of playing it, do you want to know what I deduced? Its Diablo through and through. Yes, you don't get to put points into stats and skills, but stats never mattered beyond having enough strength/dexterity to wear your gear AFTER all other boosts were taken into account and max block if you used a shield. Every single other stat point goes into Vitality, absolutely no character in the game has a use for putting points in Energy. So absolutely no loss of "customization" there.
Skillwise, you get them all now. No more going down a path to get a skill you'll use just to decide you want a different skill just for fun. Now you get them all as you level up and you can switch freely between them, there is a 30 second cool down between when you switch in a skill and when you can use it. On top of that, there are the new runes, which aren't in the beta. They basically give 7 variations of each of the skills. So that effectively means 210 skills per character, not counting the vanilla skills.
The game play is still point, click, wreck shit, collect phat loots and it feels exactly like Diablo 2 in that respect.
Anyone who thinks this game isn't Diablo, simply, is delusional.

Feb 2nd 2012 5:36PM (Joystiq)Uh... this is an entire niche industry. Its a drawing tablet, go look up stuff like Wacom tablets and the like.
