Feb 22nd 2012 10:13PM (Joystiq)If you had read the Bioware post linked in the article, you would have seen that they actually had to hire a side team to work on this after production (money and time they could have saved for the game itself)
For your fourth point , the unlockable character is a Prothean. One of the races besides the Reapers that have been shrouded in secrecy. It was a Prothean beacon that foretold of the Reaper threat in ME1 and in ME2 we learned more about them and their ultimate demise. The bonus is content is HUGE for the main story.
This is unacceptable and malicious behavior by Bioware to allow this to happen. My guess is the EA is trying to milk every single cent from purchasers of the game , because they feel like they are able to.
