Xbox 360 kiosks headed to children's hospitals across the US

"That's right kids, step right up. What's that? It won't work? Well you forgot to put your 1.50 in!"

Rockstar's Dan Houser disses casual gaming, explains process of rebuilding NYC

May 3rd 2008 9:20PM (Joystiq)
GTA is the most popular casual title in gaming. Who is this guy kidding? Pick-up-and-play, the purpose of casual titles, forms the core of GTA's gameplay. GTA's "narratives" range from being downright repulsive to making no sense whatsoever- the attraction to the game being entirely its "pick-up-and-play" CASUAL gameplay.

Poll: Are you having technical issues with GTA IV?

Apr 30th 2008 6:58PM (Joystiq)
I have had nothing but problems with this game. I'm talking about glitches with EVERY activity I've done, down to driving straight for an empty alleyway only to be about five feet from it when *pop* whoa that alleyway is full of tables that my car can't run through! Then I got arrested. Wow, fun. The collision detection is downright broken. Common things like multi-car pileups are a glitching mass. By the way, I run a 20gb model X360, though I doubt that is the problem. My glitches run without a framerate slowdown!

Variety discusses ethics of 'exclusive' reviews

Apr 28th 2008 8:00PM (Joystiq)
Actually, LaughingTarget, if you read the review, you would see that a 10 does NOT mean that it is the best thing ever made. To quote IGN - "it means a game is pushing boundaries, expanding a genre, and doing many things to a level so far above and beyond its competitors that they overshadows any flaws."

My concern is with the pandering, scaredy-cat way games journalism acts towards developers.

Wii Warm Up: Karting

Apr 27th 2008 3:46PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I got it this morning at Fred Meyer's here in AK, my internet connection sucks too much for online play, though. I opted to just beat my girlfriend a few times (racing). So far the nunchuk/remote control feels crazy intuitive for me, though my girlfriend, who doesn't usually play videogames, would be right on my tail with the wheel every time. Anybody else test their wheel out on new gamers?

Epic pres on making Wii games: 'we go forward, not back'

Apr 21st 2008 10:22PM (Joystiq)
Ok, am I the only one that lost all of my respect for this guy when he claimed that he had no regrets about Gears of War 1. Seriously, guy? What about that FRIGGIN TERRIBLE driving mission we were forced through?
