EVE Online players can use in-game currency to pay for real-life graphics cards

@Scuffles "Unless they manage to broker a deal with other players who have purchased PLEX who will exchange it for their ISK..."

PLEX is traded on the open market. You don't need to "broker a deal." You just click on the market icon, then buy it. With ISK.

"...but ISK (in-game currency) alone will get you exactly nowhere."

Except that with it people can and do buy and sell tons of PLEX on the open market. So, actually, it gets you everywhere.

@Kaerne If you're not in a corp, what, exactly, are you doing? Being in a corp is central to playing Eve, unless you specifically want to play a spreadsheets playstyle (and even then...)

@geoff0011 Any backing of $15 or more gets a copy of the game when it's released. Kickstarter isn't a donations site.

@psycros Have you played much of EVE? Piracy is very rarely worthwhile, by any traditional practical standard. They're an interesting facet, but they certainly don't drive the game by any stretch of the imagination.

@Joaquin Crowe I'm not sure what that game would even look like. Not disparaging your desire to fly spaceships, which is awesome and noble, but war drives every mechanic in EVE. The game would be different in almost every way.

@Vidikron

Valve has always treated me well.

EA has always treated me like crap.

Pretty simple.

@Alpha Rogue "everyones huge obsession with Tifa and Cloud that made people convinced that 7 was amazing."

I adore FFVII, but I have almost no opinion on the Cloud/Tifa thing.

What I DO love is the world-building, the music, all the secondary characters and locations...

@DarkSonata Man, those were the days, when parents could dictate what multinational corporations could or could not sell on their privately owned virtual goods stores.

It makes you yearn for simpler times.
