Rumor: 'Rebug' custom firmware enabled 'free' PSN downloads, forced Sony's network shutdown
Apr 26th 2011 5:22AM (Joystiq)And about link to the article you posted about PSN not being profitable yet, that's obvious. PSN is a free service to use right? You don't have to pay to play online like Xbox Live, which means Sony pays for the servers and it costs them money to maintain. Xbox Live costs $60 so you can imagine how much Microsoft is making. Again, I don't understand what your argument is.
Rumor: 'Rebug' custom firmware enabled 'free' PSN downloads, forced Sony's network shutdown
Apr 26th 2011 5:18AM (Joystiq)The hackers, for now, have only been able to trick the system into allowing them to download free PSN content, which is a content that costs companies and developers millions in developing cost. Publishers will lose money, then the developers will not create any more content, Sony will lose all the partnerships it has with the content providers, and finally all us consumers will lose on all those great and creative, but expensive to develop games we love so much.
Do you honestly believe hackers are only going to stop here? They're gonna keep trying to bring that dam down.

Dec 22nd 2010 6:06AM (Joystiq)I'm really liking this new trend of releasing small, inexpensive downloadable titles. In my opinion, more often then not they are more of a bang for your buck then most $60 retail games.

Dec 18th 2010 4:42AM (Joystiq)Split-screen wouldn't work because you know the person sitting next you. You can talk to that person, share ideas with each other. You already have the trust built up with this person and the journey together won't have the same impact.
What they're trying to do with this game though, they're exploring how 2 strangers who can't communicate or see each other but have to stick together with a shared goal behave. Imagine building a bond with a stranger who you can't see and never will...doesn't that fascinate you?
