Its funny because one quick look at your posting history, you make accusations sometimes that those who prefer the PS3 are branded SDF...yet when bad news about the 360 comes out, you seem to always "defend" it....and blindly might i add.
Ask yourself this. If this news was about GT5 today and not Forza, would you have posted a similar comment about it not being a big deal?
I saw this story and before reading the comments, I already knew that some of those who bashed the PS3 for its one time install (about 7-8) minutes would be on here convincing themselves that 2 discs for a racing game wouldn't be that bad...would it,would it? Very typical and hypocritical and dare i say fanboyish.
Ive played GT5P for a total of about 40-50 hours (and still pop it in at least once a day). I played Forza 2 about the same.
GTA4 which had a pregame load, took about 7 minutes and was done and never had that happen again over my 40-50 hours i played it. It will never have that load time again.
MGS4 had a pregame load of 7 minutes, and then through each act (5 or 6 total) has another 2 minutes of load. I will play that game well over 40-50 hours.
So your telling me its ok for Forza 3,which is not a linear game. Its a sport. You will play it most often more then GTA, Halo, MGS, Gears if you are into racing games simply because there is no end to the game. You are telling me you don't mind sitting on your couch with your buddies racing each other and then rndomly getting up, ejecting the disc and waiting about a minute or 2 max to resume? THAT is better then a one time install of 8 minutes on GTA or lets say 17 minutes total for an epic like MGS4?
Cmon, call a spade a spade, this is horrible news if true.
yah, i wanted to comment on that scene, but i try to avoid any spoiler talk...not saying you revealed a major spoiler or anything.
That scene is stunning. I actually just got to that scene about 10 minutes ago and all i can say is wow.
i really love the way they designed the Raiden character for this game. His body armor is amazing and the details are just simply gorgeous. Kojima and his team have an uncanny ability of detailing the smallest thing. I can't wait to finish and then play through again, and thats something i rarely do. Hell I even ebayed GTA last week because i was simply done with the game and felt no need to go through again.
Not saying GTA was not great, it is, and im not going to be one of those fans who after they finish GTA or have spent now a month with it, call it overrated. Its not. It was a great game, but the one problem i had with it was the amount of 100's (and other games including MGS that get 100's) it takes away from future games. IGN said it best, if they could give this game an 11 they would. Well IGN, if you and the rest of your suspect industry would fix the review format and stop giving AAA game such high scores then it would be easier to distinguish great games from masterpieces.
This game is a masterpiece, imo. Its not a ten, and no game should be considered a 10. Problem with the industry and reviewing will soon be, whos 10 is greater?
Maybe its just me, but i love the cutscenes and most times look forward to them. 90% of the time the cutscene shows of some stunning graphics.
For those who havent played, way the story is playing out you cant have live action and tell the story like they did in GTA. its not like you can go stealth or into war with an audiotrack playing over. its essential to the game.
You know what, F it. Those who hate will always hate regardless, those who defend will be branded with "SDF", doesnt matter either way. For those who are or who have completed this masterpiece, i consider you the lucky ones.
BTW, all these reported cutscenes didnt scare off 1.3 million fans the first day.
you might have something wrong with your connection or PS3. I own two Ps3 in two different houses and never have an issue, they run constantly as my office is from home and my staff and i like to take CoD4 breaks some days.
PSN runs just as smooth and reliable as Live. They both have their moments tho. I think something might be wrong with your PS3.
also put this game on second highest level or difficulty or highest level and the AI gets very tough. They will come and hunt you out. I think most people think the AI is easy because yes you can pick them off pretty easy but thats because that game pushes you into a middle of a firefight where the militia and mercenaries are fighting each other and not paying attention to you until you join the action.
I will admit, just like CoD4 and just like GTA, the AI on lower levels and even on harder difficulties has its moments where they can be easy.
if you are a casual gamer, and new to the series, i would do your homework about the series before you pick it up. If you know metal gear and loved the older versions, this game, like so many who know and have reviewed the series will admit, its utterly amazing experience.
Again, this is not for the casual gamer necessarily.
