12 Days of Joyswag: PlayStation 3D Display, 3D PlayStation 3 games, Air Flow controller

Still smells like fast food and farts.....just the way I like it.

I do have a car, but I've never found myself in it. That would require two of me in existence at the same time, which, according to my girlfriend, would be a terrible idea.

It's like if Chuck Norris and Mr. T were to walk into a bar at the same time. The building would immediately be destroyed as that amount of awesomeness cannot be contained in one place. Two of me would be like that, but without the awesomeness...

Since it's also my bedroom, it pretty much smells like stale dude......and farts....definitely stale dude farts.

...and a cornucopia of empty, grease-soaked, fast-food bags.

So, all in all, it smells pretty normal.

I'm just curious to know what these new 'gigglebytes' are...

Rocksmith review: Drop-D minus

Oct 18th 2011 6:18PM (Joystiq)
It seems as though the reviewer is a simple fan of rhythm games, who also has some guitar playing ability, and didn't get what he wanted. I myself don't care for rhythm games whatsoever, but am very interested in learning to play guitar. I want something that focuses on teaching me to play the instrument, and not focusing on my fake ass band or what the game thinks I want to look like while playing. This is what I have been waiting for, and I can't wait to give it a shot. Although, a free DLC upgrade to provide a proper chord chart would be nice since it is apparently lacking.

I, too, would like to know what other ways there are to learn guitar that are more effective and more fun. Maybe the reviewer can chime in and share?

Rocksmith review: Drop-D minus

I would love to learn to play the guitar, and I am looking forward to using this 'game' to do so. I say 'game' because I don't view this title as a game, but more of an interactive learning tool. If viewed as a game I can see why someone would be completely disappointed. Even in the ads I've seen for it, the company basically says it's geared towards the true beginner to learn the guitar in a more intriguing way.

Also, with this lag issue, I have my ps3 connected first to my home theater via hdmi, which is then connected via hdmi to my tv. Would this help whatever lag issue there seems to be?

Dark Souls speed run is a tour de force of tolerance

@OneKidney

Didn't watch the video, but sounds like the Drake sword. When you use it with 2 hands and press R2, it sends a shock wave forward, but it depletes 30 durability points every time you use it. It's an excellent sword for the early stages of the game, as it deals 200 hit points with a standard attack.

You get it by destroying the red dragon's tail on the bridge in the section after the Taurus demon. When you are underneath the bridge, you will see the tail swinging off to the right. Just equip a short bow and take 40 arrows or so and keep shooting until the tail disappears. It takes some time, but well worth it. It pretty much kills all the basic enemies in that area in one hit, and kills the red cape knights in 3 or 4 hits. I believe you need a strength of 16 to wield it, but well, well worth it.

Happy and hateful birthday, Demon's Souls!

@RealityCheck2011

I was sort of thinking the same thing. The screen gets real choppy when moving the camera (sorry for lack of technical terms). The game just doesn't seem as smooth as the original. Both games are beautiful, but
Dark Souls just doesn't seem as smooth when moving.

@CountNoobula

I know, at least for me, that I have a better understanding of what to look for in Dark Souls from having played Demon's Souls. Those who never played DS are probably all having the same thoughts playing DaS as we did when we first played DS.

@Faenix

Not as far as I know. I have yet to kill one that didn't drop a colorless soul though. The large sword of searching may help by increasing the chances that an enemy drops an item.
