@Decanus Pretty sure that it does. We have various tax incentives for multi-national companies anyway but have specific ones for technology companies too as far as I know and I don't think it matters what part of the company is set up here, a call centre for a technology company is still part of a technology company I guess.

When the UK passed on the chance to offer tax incentives to game companies a couple of years back I was hoping Ireland would seize the opportunity and it looks like they might be. Blizzard and Google were already here and a couple of other smaller developers so at least they could see the potential. Attracting video game companies specifically was an election pledge of the party that eventually got power so hopefully it'll be a driving force for the economy, much like we did with tax incentives for the film industry a while back.

They're mainly just call centres and stuff at the moment, but hopefully that'll evolve into more development here.

Being from Ireland myself this make me really happy. Our Government seems to be making an effort to attract game and technology companies which is cool to see. Blizzard, Google and Facebook already have offices here and Twitter announced today they're opening offices here so hopefully they're the first of many!

Sounds like it could be similar in format to the Game Informer podcast. I like the Game Informer podcast a lot, not sure I want the same type of show here though! Will keep an open mind until I hear it though!
