the backwards capability of ps2 came with the orginal release models, they removed that feature during the 3rd? remodel, believing that consumers would rather have a cheaper product (if i remember correctly)

so I think backwards ps2 compatability is out for good this gen

xbox 360 has been out for how many years? not to mention the the speed of which modern technology develops, this shit shouldve been taken care of a year after the problems started but 54%? all that time and its still 54%?

Sony did somewhat drop the ball this time around. They just so happened to pick the wrong things to focus on in their console e.g. online community as well as price. But to call the effort of sony a total "fail" is completely without merit. fail would mean nobody wants it (like the sega saturn :S). Though the ps3 may not sell as well as others have it still fills a niche of gamers who do want it. like how the gamecube, xbox during the last generation. the ps3 just so happens to fill in a smaller piece of the pie this time around. live and learn, im sure they'll tailor something a little less robust in their next console. But to say "sony never learns" is entirely unfounded. I mean their last 2 consoles were amazing successes, microsoft didnt even debut into the console market as well as sony did. so sony must have been doing something right...

But to some the ps3 is exactly what they are looking for, and though xbox may have a large library of games what does that matter? who owns EVERY 360 game? can the average gamer afford all said games? in my experiance most who own a console have maybe 5-10 games... hell many people i know who do have the xbox 360 have like 3. if the console doesnt have the game you want to play then whats the point? I dont want to play halo, or gow2. why should my or any other console "suck" or "fail" becuase im just not interest in your "extensive game library" (though many games are exactly like the others "wow another game more aliens to shoot?! this has never been done before!!! sign me up!!!")

besides bringing up that "360 has 8 million more units than the ps3" is an empty argument. 8 million? so? if we're comparing the size of our manhood here then how many wii consoles have been sold compared to the 360? 360 isnt first, ps3 isnt first if we compare the real numbers, the ps3 and 360 are 2 dogs fighting for scraps while the tyrant wii sits on the throne. you want to claim second, fine, but you're still second... want your trophy? heres your silver medal (microsofts second console silver medal i believe) (if anything we should flame the wii ... so many brainwashed consumers ... but thats another story)
