This is reminding me of the time when car bras were more in style. Side skirts though..

How is this new when it was showcased at E3 when they were demonstrating it?... they said it was part of the Kinect launch I believe.

@Sepirioth I agree. It's an advance and people are bashing it down -- yet when this applies to most things (plugging in a power cord the wrong way which is less possible due to the larger left side, jumpstarting a car (see http://www.autoblog.com/2010/03/20/never-blow-up-your-battery-with-michelin-smart-jumper-cables/), minimizing the size of a battery (see laptop batteries that have excessive case modifications to prevent this from happening), or simply even the cost of printing or telling people to put batteries in the right way or looking for the spring that also costs money for negative sides.

It keeps costs down, fixes aesthestic issues, and prevents improper usage which can lead to fires to explosions yet they feel compelled to whine.

They're the rocket scientists of Engadget afterall.
