eBay selling 12 months of Xbox Live for $27.99

Jun 27th 2009 5:40PM (Joystiq)
3 months for $20?? That's ALWAYS a ripoff. The full price for the 13 month card is $50, which is $3.85 per month. You paid twice that.

Is the Twitpocalypse nigh?

I'm not sure what about Twitter's constant downtime and performance issues made you so sure their databases are properly configured. In fact, from what I understand most of their scalability issues are database related.

It's nice to see Web 2.0 naming conventions have hit strip clubs.

30 bucks or less and I'll buy it. LOVE my Harmony One (which I got for free) and if my PS3 will be primary BluRay player than this is necessity.

Is Renegade Kid the company that either Bozon or Casamassina does "consulting" for? Not that IGN disproportionately overrating a Nintendo game would be shocking news. It's the site's weakest channel despite having good editors due to the awful bias.

Assessing the damage at 1UP [update]

@Moptimus Slime: I imagine the editorial director (Sam Kennedy) has virtually no say in any of this. He's just the one left to answer the questions caused by others decisions.

Assessing the damage at 1UP [update]

Next up UGO buys Joystiq and cancels all game-related content and fires everyone BUT Justin McElroy. (JK Justin.)

I know a ton of people (including myself) who listen to several 1Up podcasts but rarely if ever visit the site. I certainly won't be visiting ever again. Hopefully the people who didn't lose their job today quickly find themselves less awful places to work. It seems 6 months from now UGO will have nothing to show for this but a domain name.
