I am also a musician who plays/owns a midi keyboard so for the sake of basic comparison, the RB3 Keytar is more than adequate for what it's intended for. Its solidly built and besides the console buttons across the top, you wouldn't know it was intended for a game. Obviously it isn't intended as a replacement/standard keyboard, but for $80 dollars, its pretty impressive.
My favorite experience so far is when switching between keyboard and guitar ... I can almost feel the connections in my brain rewire themselves during the acclimation process. It actually makes me giggle like I did when I first started playing these games.
Oh, and BTW, I swear it sounds like some of the RB3 tracks have been remastered somehow. The Doors songs sound incredible! Morrison's background grunting is more audible and present than ever.
So what I'm saying is ... the sound engineering is bumped up too.
I don't plan on playing this, but I really hope it turns out to be successful. After years and years and years of hearing about it and its travails on its way to market, I need it to release so I can stop seeing previews of it. Hahahaa ..
They are totally missing their market. They should be making a life-sized plushie version of Zoe. Based on all the crying about her not being in L4D2 means there's a lot of closet desire going out there. :)
Everything up until your last bullet point was correct. CTA was not being concerned citizens. This is what happened--literally; GTA4 ads went up on the buses, a week or so into the advertising campaign a local news anchor made an off-hand remark about GTA being a violent video game and linked it to a recent school shooting. She essentially threw down the gauntlet at CTA's feet. CTA panicked, backpedaled and immediately removed the ads. Shortly thereafter they announced no more advertisements for games with mature themes.
See ... they were covering their asses, not looking out for the kids.
