The last couple of POP games were far from superb... Sands of Time was superb, the sequel was an MTV abortion, the last one was not quite as tainted as its predecessor but still nowhere near as engaging or true to the original property as the first.
I'm not glad he's white - he's supposed to be a Persian prince for crying out loud! He should look Persian. This and casting Jake Gyllenhaal as the prince in the movie make me want to scream (and I'm a white guy). A little authenticity would be nice here people.
One of the best rock albums ever... I can't wait to get my hands on this!
Word to the naysayers:
Harmonix totally know what they're doing – they probably have market and research data showing that a good percentage of those of us hooked on Rock Band have been clamoring for stuff like this. I personally know a TON of friends and family of my generation (mid-late 30s) who are massive Rock Band addicts and are spreading the good word through sessions and parties – and my generation is bound to have more disposable income and spending power than younger fans of the most recent stuff.
It's impossible to please everybody - unless you like absolutely everything there are going to be DLC releases you don't care for. Harmonix is bound to get to the stuff you want eventually.
It would be interesting to see which DLC has been the most popular to date – I'm willing to bet it's the older/classic stuff. Harmonix would have to be insane not to devote more effort to those respective genres making them the most money.
