April Fool's jokes streak across the MMO community

So when did last year's GW April Fools quest stop being available?
Will it be gone if I wait to do it tomorrow?

Current gen consoles 'can't cope' with traditional Total War

I always find it amusing how differently different people describe what makes a "PC game".
Just this week I've seen "PC gamers wouldn't like X, it's too slow and strategic and not twitchy enough" as well as "PC games tend to be more strategic than actiony"
PC has such a broad range but everyone seems so intent on pigeonholing it into only being "for" a certain type of game, no matter what that type of game actually is.

SOE answers Vanguard free-to-play questions

@Maseno
I've really only played DCUO out of their F2P roster, but that had a VERY lenient cash shop philosophy, ridiculously so. Why do people seem so determined to look to the past to search for reasons to hate them and completely ignore what they've done recently?

I... what?
I refuse to believe you can't see the ridiculous logical disconnect there.

A look at Guild Wars 2's world vs. world PvP

@AnathemaOne
MMOs didn't always have levels, leveling as we know it today is a meaningless carrot on a stick that should be thrown the hell out and left to rot. We need to come up with some new and interesting progression ideas, or maybe even repurpose some old ones, I really liked UO's, for example.

Phantasy Star Online to be F2P, Android and iOS versions announced

Was hoping for B2P so the temptation of making the cash shop stupid was nullified a little, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.

Fun fact: Apparently that's actually Jon "Duke Nukem" St.John.
Dude is awesome.

Rampant Speculation Theatre presents: 'Xblaze' announced by Arc System Works

Mar 24th 2012 11:31PM (Joystiq)
"Atlus tapped the 2D fighting game masters at Arc System Works to make a fighting game based off Persona 4. So will this collaboration work the other way too? Will Arc ask the RPG masters at Atlus to make an RPG based off BlazBlue?

4Gamer asked that very question to Toshimichi Mori as part of an interview about Persona 4 Arena, which Mori produced. Replied Mori, "I'd like to do it, but if we did make an RPG, I'd want to make it myself. I'm the kind of person who likes do do things himself wherever possible (laughs)."

Mori added, however, that if he did make something else with BlazBlue, he'd want to first make an adventure game, although he quickly corrected himself and pointed out that the home BlazBlue conversions have an adventure mode."

Hints of things to come? maybe~

Vanguard going free-to-play this summer, beefs up dev team

@Maseno
DCUO is the only F2P title of theirs I've played and it seemed pretty reasonable, more than reasonable, really.
I never felt like I was being held back while not paying and they never locked any of the existing character creation choices as far as I could see.
