Favorite weapon has gotta be the Suck Cannon from Ratchet and Clank. You just can't beat it, nothing's more enjoyable than vacuuming up enemies and shooting them back out at other bad guys.

@9 From my experience with VMware software on other platforms, their support is worse than Parallels'

Although I agree about the pay to upgrade. It's ridiculous that version 1 and 2 users who were promised eventual 3d graphics support now have to pay to get it.

Judging from the Unity video posted and my own experiences with Parallels v3, here are the things Unity does that Parallels' Coherence doesn't (as of now):
Have Mac windows interlaced with Windows windows
Expose properly
Draw moving Windows windows smoothly
Have drop shadows on windows

It DOES have all the same dock features, including keep in dock for windows apps. It also allows you to set mac apps as defaults in windows and mounts the windows drive on your mac desktop completely read and writeable (not sure if VMware does those things).

Also keep in mind, that Parallels is sure to try to copy any new feature VMware puts out. I expect to see an improved Coherence with all the currently Unity-exclusive features within the next few updates.

How do you upgrade to 3.0 if you preordered? I have the key they sent me, but where do I download the upgrade?

Just wanted to say you don't need multiple user accounts for fast user switching, it'll work with just one.

For playing .mkv files I suggest getting the latest SVN build of Perian (Perian.org) and using NicePlayer. That's what I do and it works perfectly, even though it's technically still a beta.

@8 Fast user switch doesn't stop any currently running programs, so it shouldn't be a problem. I know at least Adium continues to run, I don't use iChat but I don't see why it would be any different.

If you don't have Quicksilver installed, an alternative way to lock the screen is to install WinSwitch. One of its several features is the ability to set a key-combo that will bring you to the login screen (without logging you out) effectively locking the computer.
