Analyst: $60 price point is safe for now

Mar 27th 2009 9:51PM (Joystiq)
Want to not pay $60 for games? The answer is simple: SHOP SMART!

I check the CheapAssGamer forums constantly, and though I usually buy from Gamestop, I wait for 20-25 percent off used coupon to get games. You would be amazed how much you can save this way. Sometimes you can get games two days after they come out for $35!

And if you just wait a couple months, most games drop in price drastically. I only pay $60 for a game maybe four or five times a year for a HUGE release like Halo 3 or GTA4.

Be smart, people! Wait! Shop around!

Hopefully next year's edition won't have a bunch of bugs introduced down the line that make franchise mode unplayable.

Broken Xbox 360? Be happy you don't live in Nome, Alaska

Mar 16th 2009 4:58PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I live in Fairbanks, and I can vouch that it's not uncommon for places like Nome way off the road system to not have physical addresses. It's just easier that way.

And even though I live on the road system and have a real address, it took me a month to get my coffin when my 360 died. MS tech support is just total ass. I kept talking to the Indians who would act like they were taking down my info and give me service numbers, then I would call back a week later and be informed that no order had ever been placed. The very definition of frustration.

Fanpoll: How is Xbox Live working for you?

Oct 3rd 2008 2:28PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I have not been able to get on Live at all this week except for one hour on Tuesday. This is completely ridiculous!

What in God's name is going on, and when will it be fixed?

I have had Live for 2 years now, and I have never experienced anything like this. Even the holidays weren't this bad last year.

Halcyon Company planning games based on Philip K Dick novels

May 24th 2008 1:34PM (Joystiq)
This poster obviously has no idea who Dick was, by saying "he has released more than 40 novels." He died more than 20 years ago! There are no more novels coming up.

And calling him a "cyberpunk scribe" really isn't far either, since only a handful of his stories crossed into that territory. Seriously man, do some basic research before you post something.
