WRUP: Everybody is working edition

Jun 5th 2010 8:12AM (Joystiq)
Your comment really doesn't warrant a response, but if you must know, I just bought the game two weeks ago and it's my first third-person shooter.

Infamous 2 bolts for Game Informer cover

He looks fine to me. Granted, I never played the first game. But still! Looks cool. Hopefully, it'll make an appearance at E3.

WRUP: Everybody is working edition

I beat the first Uncharted for the first time, on Easy, earlier in the week. I'll be beating it on Normal tomorrow. Maybe I'll be able to get through Hard by the end of the weekend. I'm going for my first Platinum, you see. If by some magical influence I make it through Crushing by weekend's end, I'll be jumping right into Uncharted 2.

Nintendo cuts DSi and DSi XL prices in Japan, announces new DSi XL colors

Jun 2nd 2010 11:13AM (Joystiq)
That blue is the exact shade of blue I've been waiting for to come out as a color choice for a handheld. The cobalt blue was too dark.

Why the heck did they start out with such terrible colors in the first place? They should have started with at least one of these in the bunch.

Review: Red Dead Redemption (single-player)

May 21st 2010 2:29PM (Joystiq)
Though I have absolutely no interest in this game, as someone who's played GTA3 and Vice City, I LOVE this: "Another feature that should be appreciated: the ability to replay any of the story missions -- at any time. For competitive gamers, there's even a scoring system that will award Gold/Silver/Bronze awards based on your performance in each mission."

There's some prime replayability right there, sirs.

I always wished I could replay missions in the GTAs.

Review: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Xbox 360)

May 18th 2010 1:08PM (Joystiq)
With all my Amazon discounts from other preorders, I was planning on using a few to get this at $30. Seems like the price will go down on its own in a short amount of time, simply because it won't sell as well as expected.

Honestly, this would be my first PoP game and everything I've seen of it, I like. I've been watching Youtube gameplay vids of all the other recent PoP games, just to compare and see why everyone doesn't like this one but LOVES the others, and I just don't see it. I don't see what made the others so great. Maybe that comes solely with my point of view, hypothetically jumping into the series at this current point in time. Maybe that's why Forgotten Sands would be my first PoP game. There must be something here that I, as a newcomer, see that everyone else doesn't or can't. *shrugs*

In the end, to each his own, but to be blunt, I was really quite hoping that reviews for this game would show all the pessimists and premature naysayers how wrong they were. Maybe some still will. Or maybe it'll be just another case of 95% disliked the game a whole lot, while a select few others and I liked the game quite a bit. =\

Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands launch trailer covers the bases

It's because Split/Second and RDR also come out tomorrow and I guess there's more hype and attention surrounding those.

Joyswag: Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands

"The Forgotten Sands" would be my first PoP game. I'm really excited about it. The platforming is of a kind that I've never experienced before, and the elemental powers look awesome.

As I do not own a XBox360, the PS3 version would be GREAT!!!

Review: Split/Second

May 17th 2010 11:57AM (Joystiq)
I'm eager to see how PoP fares in critical reviews before I decide whether that game's worth a buy. The trailers have me really psyched for that one, though.

Swag Sunday: Armored Core: Last Raven (PSP) [update]

My armored core would be made out of manufacted nethicite. The safe kind, of course. >
