Game Arts' 'The Magic Obelisk' for WiiWare emerges from shadow next week

Definitely looks enjoyable enough to be worth five bucks. I'll probably pick this one up.

NintendoWare Weekly: Let's Catch some Towering Toast

I personally know the dev of Eduardo the Samurai Toaster. He worked incredibly hard on it for a loooooooooooong time. Give him some support everyone, he deserves it. :)

Reggie on Bob's Game: Refused license doesn't reflect on Nintendo's support for the little guy

Apr 4th 2009 12:28PM (Joystiq)
Nintendo has and will give licenses to people with little to no professional experience - but not in all cases, it seems. I have a friend who got approval to work on a WiiWare game (as yet unreleased, so I'll hold off on details at his request) and he has never published anything professional. It just depends on what Nintendo thinks of your idea, as several other people here have said.

Oh, and if the guy is as much of a nutjob as everyone is saying, then that might have had something to do with it. ;)

Atlus eyes Ys for DS in North America

Oct 24th 2008 3:12AM (Joystiq)
For what it's worth, the Ys series didn't start on the TG-16 anyways (although that was probably the best version of the game prior to Ys Eternal and Ys Complete), it started back on old Japanese computers. There were ports for the Famicom (which never came out in English) and the Sega Master System (the first one did come out in English). Eventually the games were ported to pretty much anything in Japan that had wires in it. ;p

Glad to see it getting another release, I love the games, and putting both on a single unit makes it much more appealing.

Two videos for third Shiren

May 27th 2008 12:52AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Yay, more Mysterious Dungeon games! I didn't get into the series until recently (as in, the English version of Shiren for the DS), but I went back and played several of the others, and I must say that the series is most excellent. Glad to see Asuka (the female warrior in the video) is back - her Mysterious Dungeon game on the Dreamcast (with the delightfully long name "Fushigi no Dungeon Fuurai no Shiren Gaiden Onna Kenshi Asuka Kenzan") was really, really good. It's one of the rarer RPGs for the Dreamcast, but if you like the series, by all means, seek it out.

I digress. New Shiren. Me happy. End.
