Joystiq vs. Bungie: A Mythic Halo 3 Challenge [update 2]

Apr 6th 2009 4:23PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Gamertag: Azar42
Highest Skill: 45
Ranked K/D: 1.11

-I don't have the best K/D spread and I'm not a Grade 4 General killing machine, but I can hold my own and perform even better when coordinating with a well-organized team.
-I'm an ex-Joystiq writer! You have my undying loyalty.
-I've played with Urk and a couple other Bungie employees, so I'd love to face off against them instead.

Our games changed over the years, but I remember my friends and I playing BattleTanx, The World is Not Enough, and Diddy Kong Racing more than anything.

It seems like decent online support is largely up to the developer. It's not like the console can't do it, but for whatever reason games like Brawl shipped with a broken online service that has never been addressed. I definitely think their poor handling of online gameplay has been Nintendo's biggest failing this generation.

Army Men was certainly a gimmick, but it was a pretty decent one at first. The series really degraded when they took it into Sarge territory, though. Sarge's War was a terrible, terrible game.

Same here. I've never been able to get into sim sports games or sim racers because they sacrifice speed and usability for complexity. Maybe I'm just impatient, but I don't have much interest in slowing down to 25 mph to take a turn or plan out a playbook to play a game of football.

I wasn't very good at NFL Blitz, but I sure loved throwing Hail Marys!

More likely it will show them that you can't spend a lot of money and put out a terrible product like Haze. The same thing's happening to Factor 5. It's hardly a death sentence for high definition game development.

I was looking forward to seeing what they were going to do with a new Timesplitters. Hopefully someone will buy them out or something.

"New Play Control?" Really? Eww.

Nah. My favorite characters were typically Hayato, Captain Commando, Jin, and Iron Man. But I never played competitively, so matches with friends usually involved changing up the teams quite a bit.
