Dec 15th 2011 2:45PM (Joystiq)Depends what you mean - there are already a number of quality Move games, and I've got stacks of value and entertainment out of the peripheral (and calling Sports Champions and The Shoot 'tech demos' is trolling - Joystiq, that's you I'm talking about - it's like calling Forza or GT tech demos for racing wheels!)
On the other hand, if people are waiting to 'Skyward Sword' with Move, don't forget it took Ninty six years to get motion controlled games to that point (and LoZ:SS is the only game on Wii that could arguably be said to be better than most Move titles when it comes to this kind of thing).
The thing about Move that no-one seems to get is that it's _not_ for every kind of game - just like a racing wheel it suits some kind of gameplay and not others. Beyond using the Sharpshooter for FPS (which I'm personally not a fan of - gamepad all the way for me with shooters), there will never be a great Move (or Kinect) traditional FPS, or RPG, or Adventure game because a pad does it better, and because even if you'll have Move Sharpshooter as an option, it would be stupid to exclude pad players. It'd be like making a PC web browser without mouse support.
Sony: Vita will support multiple PSN accounts, each tied to individual memory cards
Dec 8th 2011 3:52PM (Joystiq)This is clearly anti-piracy Scuffles, and I'm guessing the reason it's more than just a firmware recode is to try and prevent the thing getting cracked and, more importantly, making sure that even if it is cracked, it's too finickity to be worth pirating.
Would be surprised if we don't eventually get licensed third-party cards as well - all the 'price gouging' arguments neglect that fact that Sony license pretty heavily to third parties for most of their kit.

Dec 1st 2011 8:06PM (Joystiq)I'd say it's been a long day for the author, and he's got the BF3 and Skyrim patches confused. It is a funny thing to confuse in a SP-only game, but long days can do that to ya :).
MotorStorm devs saved from Apocalypse by Sony
Nov 30th 2011 6:41PM (Joystiq)That d'ain't make any sense. If they wanted controversial publicity, they'd have launched as planned and ran with it, and got plenty more!
Rumors: Dead Space expands into FPS and flight, Dragon Age goes multiplayer
Nov 30th 2011 3:19PM (Joystiq)lol - I didn't like the cheap shot at flight games either, and really hope we get another one soon (Darkstar One on PC/360 ain't too bad, well worth a look) - but agree with many others that I'm not sure the Dead Space universe is the place to put it! How about a Mass Effect space flight game? I'm sure blasting Reaper ships and their lackies would go down nicely :).
More broadly, it sounds like EA are designing games by boardroom. It could work, if the dev teams are up to it, but it's a dangerous path.
The darker gray of Rainbow 6: Patriots
Nov 28th 2011 3:34PM (Joystiq)This says it best - I think it's great that Ubisoft are tackling such a current and potentially divisive issue. Just another sign of gaming as a medium growing up. Vegas was fun and all, but it was clearly make-believe. This sounds like a much grittier, harrowing affair - which, lets face it, any game wanting to tackle the issue of terrorism (and Rainbow is an elite anti-terror organisation) should be if it wants to be credible. Of course, I hope they're not exploitative, but the Rainbow games have generally been pretty solid in that regard.
