Final Fantasy XIII director comments on linearity, early reviews

Feb 16th 2010 11:51AM (Joystiq)
Wait, i thought Wada said he wanted to make the games more westernised and expand the audience? And since when has a final fantasy game ever been this linear before, there have always been a world map and towns to explore. I think the criticisms are justified.

I guess this is what happens when you have to change dev from ps2 to ps3 then also for 360, stuff gets cuts due to time constraints. They really have themselves to blame.

I think they missed a trick with the usb port. If it could be used to access the hard drive, that would be awesome. Do away with having caddies and power supplies.

Sony Europe boss promises new ways of fighting piracy on PSP

They need to do what they are doing with the ps3. Provide a secure platform with the option for running linux. They really should do more to find out what people want from their psp's to prevent them from turning to homebrew. Take the ps3, since it's launch, people have asked for dvd/ps1/ps2 upscaling, network media playback, support for divx, bd 2.0, dts hd ma.... and most recently in game xmb. It takes the incentive out of homebrew if functionality is continually added and negates the need to hack a system to make it do what you want. I think there should also be a way for novice game designers to get their game to work on the psp. The only people left then wanting to hack their psp are those that have no intention of buying a game.

BBC teaming with NHK for Super Hi-Vision trials

The reason why Europe is struggling to adopt HD is because there is very little or no free over the air HD broadcasts. It's as simple as that. I don't want to have to shell out hundreds for an extra box under the tv or another dish on my house and another monthly subscription just to get HD.
