brunstar, you are way off here. The post was written to estimate how many PS3s were sold and how much money that meant for GameStop. What gave me the idea was seeing a silly rumor about about how GameStop supposedly had 80% of the launch allocations. Clearly, the calculations speak for themselves. GameSpot sold approximately 42k PS3s. That leaves 350k for other retailers. It's all pretty simple.

I'm not sure where you are getting conspiracy theories about the post meaning that GS can't cover their preorders. That's just no where in the post.

I don't think we are talking about profit sharing here. To use your own TV analogy, this is akin to FOX TV doing a special promotion for a Paramount Pictures release (I'm not talking about commercials). This is why you only see FOX TV air special promotions for 20th Century Fox movie releases (as you see all the time with their "see 10 minutes of kick-ass footage" promotions they've done with movies like X-men 3 and Day After Tomorrow.

Yep, this debuted about 4 weeks ago. Not sure how that fact has any impact on it being funny. Especially for people who have not seen it.

For you guys wondering about why I don't know about how hard it is to hurt Blu-Ray. I said HD-DVD fanboys were claiming they were easy to damage:

Yeah, NOT fake. That's the real box art. IGN put onto a Blu-Ray case. What? you think that Sony isn't going to use the Blu-Ray cases for the PS3 games? This whole thing is all about Blu-Ray for Sony. Plus, you can tell the artwork has been exaclty created to fit the standard Blu-Ray case format. So, NOT fake. Definitly REAL.
