Verdugo, I purposefully chose the most complex screenshot possible here. In normal everyday play I don't have 40 raidbars, enemy cast bars, main tanks or a threatmeter taking up the screen -- I also scale the raid windows down if I'm not going to be healing at all, as they are mainly that size for easier buffing/healing. So it's not quite as overcomplicated as it looks. :)

Hotting up is certainly valid British English. Means "getting hot", but bizarrely phrased.

Oh, also - I didn't want to make this into a class debate, really (but I'm really interested in what you all have to say about raiding in general!). However, for the record, I'm a druid. Feral, but I heal where needed (and I've spent a lot of time healing so far -- it's easier to learn encounters, and I feel like less of a liability!).

Okay, so I guess I needed a bit more detail on a couple of things in the post :)

I'd already been raiding with a casual group for a couple of months. Before joining this "hardcore" alliance, I knew AQ20 and ZG inside out, helped my casual group down Ossi, and had been to MC a couple of times too. I wasn't new to raiding, as it may seem was the case.

Also, the scolding wasn't for a newbie mistake -- I haven't made any of those (yet!), and of course I research and prep for fights. I simply got told off in a very rude manner for one minor point in the rulebook which was easy to overlook. Even having a rulebook was new to me, coming from a far more relaxed group :)

Looks like it's changed for the better (or worse) for most servers. For me, a 4.5 hour AB queue has become 15 minutes; a 40-60 minute WSG queue has become 15-90 minutes, and a 4 hour AV queue has become 1.5 hours. As for the shock of being ousted from a comfort zone of always-winning (or always-losing), that's almost a welcome relief to me -- except the increased playtime that comes from 40-minute rather than 10-minute gulches :)

Well, Pickypants - only one of our guys was in tier 2, we're casual raiders and don't have epics coming out of our ears at all. The point I was trying to make is that the cohesion we had simply from playing together frequently was the most important factor in the run's success -- and that's something I can't imagine having in 90% of pugs.

I heard that enchants on Benediction got lost when it was changed to Anathema and back again -- maybe that was it?

A guildie was playing with bots recently and basically just followed them around playing "tag the mob". Got a whole ton of drops and scales off them too I think :)

The drop rates I've had so far from grinding for runecloth mean that by the time I get enough stacks of RC, the coin drops alone will make enough cash for another mount. Besides, it's something to aim for. ;)

Trollbert, that's exactly where I've put my points so far :) I can take on higher mobs okay but they detect my stealth so easily that it's vital, really.
