I will hold on to my physical copies until they no longer work. I like it better than digital and any time I have a chance to get a actual disc I will.

I would love to see Muramasa on the PS3!

Happy birthday! That's pretty cool that Joystiq turns 5 only 2 days before my own birthday :D. I started reading sometime in the beginning of 2008. It's been a part of my daily routine ever since.

It is really cool that the box art will be reversible. I like that Square Enix went with something more than just the logo like they have been for a lot of the handheld games. The logos only are clean and simple, but I think having characters on the cover catches the customer’s eye more. Also, it is nice that they used the actual character artwork instead of the CGI.

This experiment by Sony doesn’t make any sense to me. By making Patapon 2 a download only game from the Playstation Network, it really alienates some of their fans. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have both a UMD retail version as well as the PSN download, especially since they are going to all the trouble to make a box and instructions for retail. They offered both for the Japan and Europe releases, so how come we get only one option? The Playstation network is great for older games that people can no longer find, never got to play, and don’t want to pay outrageous prices for. But I believe that for brand new games, customers should have the option of getting the UMD or downloading it to their memory card.

If this is true Ill be canceling my preorder and getting the EU version. I like physically having the game disc. I want the PSN to have games that are difficult to impossible to find, old PS1 games for instance, like the Japan PSN has. New games should not be download only.

I gotta agree with this. I thought the DMW was great. It gave a sense of what Zack's thoughts were without endless monologue text. Also it gave the battles emotion. It wasnt mindless killing by a robot. Depending on the situation he would gain strength from his training with his mentors, the loyality of a friend, or the anger of betrayal. It made Zack more human. Not to mention I loved that all the leveling up of your character was behind the scenes. It made the game not a huge grind fest and I was happy when I got triple 7s instead of continuously checking an experience bar wishing I would just level up already. Also I agree that the characters are an important part of any FF game, but its really the whole package of characters, gameplay, story, and worlds that make the games shine imo.
