I think they just need to license their tech to microsoft and integrate it into the new version of Windows home server, then have motherboards that have laptop-like switching from integrated to high end graphics on the fly and go low power to full power for streaming games on a LAN. A hex core with 8GB ram and a modern graphics card could easily power 2 or 3 games on a lan to a netbook or something similar.

All they did was add a plug to the 3rd gen, the ev mode on the 3rd gen gives about the same distance on pure electric though it kicks to gas at 25mph, so a software change and a plugin is the only difference, thats why it only offers 12.5 mpc, it is probably a very cheap upgrade for toyota and so they can lower price if needed to keep it cheaper then the volt.

I dont really think it is designed to compete directly against the volt, just a way to add a slightly boost the fuel economy, maybe gets epa estimates up to 55 or 60 mpg.
