No downloads tab anywhere that I can see. Here's an idea: When you have a story titled "Download This", how about supplying a direct link to "This". Simple, no?
This story, more than anything else, confirms my fears about the iOS garbage. Real games for real gaming platforms are being left behind in favor of crap for iPads and telephones. Sometimes I hate it when I'm right.
*Sigh* I suppose they'll keep pulling the rug out from under our feet every 6 months. I hope they didn't screw up the controller functionality to favor Kinect. I don't have Kinect, and probably never will.
I'm glad it wasn't just me, then. I started playing the demo this morning, with a smile on my face, and suddenly I was getting killed repeatedly by the 2nd group of bad guys I encountered. I quickly remembered how to deal with health items, and I finally survived, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. No more smile. Punishing hardcore combat in a whimsical game just doesn't seem right. If you can't even find your legs before they're cut out from under you, something is amiss.
"Ouch! Overall video game industry sales are down 26% in North America for July, year over year, with a 29% dip in console hardware sales mostly to blame." . . . "On the software front, July 2011 only saw '17 new releases [...] compared to 29 last July.'"
See how it works? Put out more games, preferably good ones, and you sell more hardware and software. In other news, the grass is green . . .
