Motorola's Droid 2 in the wild, looking as blue as ever

Aug 11th 2010 4:48PM (Engadget)
Any truth to the rumor that Droid 1's docking stations can not be used with Droid 2?

Motorola Droid Android 2.2 Froyo OTA updates are go

@tricheboars
Thanks for the reply... went to Verizon as soon as they opened. Informed me they'd send me a refurb by tomorrow running 2.1 and I'd have to wait for the update again. While waiting, I decided to 'mess' with my newly bricked phone figuring I'd have another phone tomorrow anyway. Downloaded the 2.2 file and did a manual install and *VOILA*, no more bricked phone. So I'll see what I actually get in the mail tomorrow from Verizon to see if it's worth actually keeping. For the record, I prefer the Helix Launcher homescreen replacement over the new stock one in 2.2. Also, I was told at the store today that the Droid2 won't work in the Droid 1 docking stations.

***BRICKED*** Been sitting at the Motorola 'M' boot screen for over an hour now on my never rooted, never had a problem Droid.

Verizon says original Droid 'doesn't have the hardware' to support a mobile hotspot

Well... I wasn't going to root my Droid and I don't really have any need for tethering. But.... I think once there's a root hack available for 2.2 I'll root it just out of spite, now.

Foxconn discussing the possibility of price hikes to offset wage increases

Ok, so wait. The cheap, off-shored, labor that Americans supposedly won't do is getting more expensive, imagine that. Perhaps that means jobs will be coming back home soon??? Seeing it in India, too.

Android 2.2 Froyo source code available today

I'm sure Verizon will wait until Droid 2 and Droid X have been out a couple of weeks before updating the less expensive models so as not to cannibalize the sales of their new flagship Android phones.

Motorola Droid X first (official) hands-on and unboxing! Update: video!

@Prevacator Just imagine the phones that will be available then... :)

The Droid X gets real on Verizon (update: 720p video capture, not display)

Everyone gets all giddy about higher resolution screens, faster processors, wi-fi, etc... I'm at the point now, where I will hold off on my excitement until some advances in battery technology, that will facilitate using these improved features for a significant amount of time are brought to market.

Xbox 360 250GB first unboxing!

Hmmm.... still a proprietary hard drive as well as an external power supply 'brick', albeit small. Like it...just not as much as I did 5 minutes ago.

Send to SYNC enables BT phones to beam Google Maps to Ford navigation systems

Jun 8th 2010 12:21PM (Engadget)
SYNC is awesome... if you're native language is English. If you have any kind of accent, or try to pronounce words/names that don't necessarily have their roots in mid-Western English without pronouncing them phonetically, SYNC won't have any idea what it is you're trying to say. There should be language packs available (for purchase?) that you can add to your system to allow you to speak in your native tongue if you so desire.
